Pharmaceutical Training Seminars
April 12-13 & April 14-15, 2016; Philadelphia Marriott Downtown – Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
Introduction
The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Office of Diversion Control, sponsored two Pharmaceutical Training Seminars, April 12-13, and April 14-15, 2016 at the Philadelphia Marriott Downtown, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Attendees included approximately 210 DEA registered manufacturers and importers of Schedule I and II controlled substances, and the CMEA List 1 chemicals. The purpose of these pharmaceutical training seminars is to assist non-managerial DEA compliance personnel of the DEA registered manufacturing, importing, and exporting companies on the CSA, quotas, year-end reporting, ARCOS reporting, import/export permits and declarations, scheduled investigations, and the Combat Methamphetamine Epidemic Act (CMEA). The seminars also included content regarding the registration process for manufacturers and importers of Schedule I and II controlled substances, and the CMEA List 1 chemicals. These conferences are one of the mechanisms used by the Office of Diversion Control to foster communication and cooperation with its registrants in complying with the Controlled Substances Act and its implementing regulations, as well as their vigilance in identifying and preventing diversion.
